National Awards
2015 Phi Kappa Phi Fellow
In June 2015, I was awarded a Graduate Fellowship by the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. This award is given to new graduate students based on their promise of success in graduate studies. I am very grateful for the support of Phi Kappa Phi upon entering my first year of graduate study.
"Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Baton Rouge, La., The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines [...]. The Society's mission is "To recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others." Every year, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awards 51 Fellowships of $5,000 each and six at $15,000 each to members entering their first year of graduate or professional study."

2014 Astronaut Scholar
In June 2014, I was received the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Award for my academic achievements and research experience in Earth sciences.
The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation was established by the Mercury 7 astronauts, "to ensure that the United States would maintain its leadership in science and technology by supporting some of the very best science and engineering college students." The Astronaut Scholarship Award is the biggest and most prestigious merit-based award offered to undergraduates in the United States.

Joseph K. Roberts Award ($500)
In May 2018, I received the Joseph K. Roberts Award for my oral presentation at the 2017 Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation meeting in Providence, RI.
Distinguished Student Award
In May 2015, I received the Distinguished Student Award from the College of Geosciences.
This award is given to the graduating seniors who started their last semester with a GPR of 3.75 or higher.

Environmental Programs Outstanding Graduating Senior Award
In May 2015, I received the Environmental Programs Outstanding Graduating Senior Award. This award is given to a student from each major who has maintained a high GPA while participating in academic and campus activities.
College of Geosciences Medallion Milestone Scholar Award: Gold
In May 2015, I was honored to receive the College of Geosciences Medallion Milestone Scholar Award (Gold) from the College of Geosciences. This award was given to me based on my achievements inside and outside of the classroom (including publications, attending conferences, study abroad, etc.)

Recipients have demonstrated leadership, professionalism, citizenship and/or research skills while building collaborative relationships in the academic, local or global community."

In April 2014, I received the Outstanding Junior Award for the College of Geosciences, as well as the University Outstanding Junior Award, for my achievements in and out of the classroom.

The Chapter, in cooperation with academic deans, honors an Outstanding Junior from each college. One of the college Outstanding Juniors [is] selected as the Outstanding Junior for Texas A&M University. The selection process includes reviewing resumes and interviewing each of the Outstanding Juniors."

Texas A&M Thomas S. Garthright Academic Excellence Award
I have been honored to receive the Thomas S. Gathright Scholar Award in April 2013 and 2014 for my academic achievements during my sophomore and junior year.
"The Thomas S. Gathright Scholar Award was established in April 1973 and is given annually to the outstanding sophomore, junior, and senior of each academic college. Named in honor of the first president of the A&M College of Texas, this award recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement on a university-wide scale."

Texas A&M Team Diversity Award
In April 2013, the College of Geoscience's Undergraduate Recruitment Team was awarded the Team Diversity Award, for our efforts in recruiting and supporting incoming freshmen and prospective students from all over the States.
